The process by which we distribute money to federal candidates begins with our state affiliates and members. When an affiliate would like to recommend PAC funding for a candidate, the group meets with the candidate to conduct an interview and ask a series of questions about the candidate’s views on important education issues. The candidate also completes a detailed questionnaire as part of this process. Based on this material, the affiliate makes the decision of whether or not it wants to recommend one candidate for each race to the NEA Fund for financial support.
